    PITV

There are some exciting things going on at the moment and this is just one of them. I’ve been asked along as a guest speaker at the very first ‘Photography in the Valley’ workshop in March, organised by Gitte Eyres and Karen Castle.

I’ll be joined by another guest speaker, Karin Calvert who is an editorial photographer for The Sunday Times with a wealth of experience and an awesome portfolio.  This is going to be a fantastic weekend workshop held at the picturesque Chittering Valley Retreat for beginners and lovers of photography.  The aim is to inspire, inform and motivate in a laid back setting and to develop your passion for photography further.

Actually we didn’t see any horses, but we did see lions, rhinos and rangas!

My 1 day beginners photography course was held at Perth Zoo on the weekend and it was heaps of fun. Lots of ‘catch-lights’ being caught, eyes in focus and great exposures being made.  Thanks to the participants for being so enthusiastic, especially as it was so HOT on the Sunday.  New dates will be announced before the end of this week. Classes are small and relaxed (relaxed as long as you don’t mind sharing the room with a boa constrictor…he spent all day fast asleep in his glass enclosure, obviously he already knows how to take great ssssnapssss!) so if you’ve been thinking about learning how to use your new DSLR but haven’t yet got around to it…2011 is the year to learn.  New dates will be posted HERE on Friday.  Hope to see you there :-)

P.S. Will also have another exciting beginners workshop to tell you about soon so stay tuned!

POP!! That’s the sound of a champagne cork popping (actually it’s not because it’s 6.30 in the morning) but it will be tonight!

Since it’s launch on the 1st of September 2010, the first issue has been viewed by over 30,000 readers. That’s not just hits, that’s people physically turning the pages (well virtually turning them…you know what I mean!)

So I’d just like to say a huge THANKS to everyone who has flipped through and I hope you’ll enjoy this second Issue just as much.  It’s much more ‘interactive’ and the pages contain links which I thought might interest some of you.  There’s also a chance to win a fabbo Kata backpack if you know ‘where Dave is’.

So grab a cuppa, take a load off and sit in front of the computer for just that little bit longer.
